Great Lakes Hornworm...

I don't know if I am posting this in the wrong place, and sorry if I am, but I have a question. I ordered some stuff from Great Lakes Hornworm on Wednesday as it said in order to ship out the worms/crickets that week you have to order by Wednesday. There is no way to track the shipment and they never gave me an expected date of arrival, but you need to be there to accept the package to ensure the health of the worms. Can someone who has ordered from there tell me about how long it took for them to get their shipment as I don't want to miss it.

Thank you =]

I've ordered from them twice, and the first time it was sent out Monday and got here on Saturday. The second time they forgot to send out the pakage so I waited for a week and a half before it was sent out through overnight to make up for it. I don't like how long their shipping takes and probably won't order from them again. They use a shipping that can take between 3-5 days.

4 days is a little too long for me. Maybe you can request priority shipping with the tracking number next time? It sounds kind of counter productive almost if they require that you are there when the shipment arrives, but it takes 4-5 days for it to arrive...

previous orders...

maybe it's up to the postal delivery...for the chams, i've had to be there for each one, but the couple times i've ordered feeder online, the box has been sitting on my doorstep when i got home, with no requirement for present on delivery. i suppose it could be a problem with a "live arrival" guarantee, but the last order i got from them...on my doorstep and all alive with no problems...

Well the part about it that sucks to me is that you have to be there to get it but you don't know when it's coming. So am I supposed to call off work to ensure my feeders are okay? Haha.

Thank you for telling me of your experiences though!
And poor Olimpia, I would never order from there again. And most likely if I would have read this before ordering, I wouldnt either. Haha.

Last time I ordered from them I placed the order on a Wednesday and received them the following Wednesday. I did place the order late in the day. I pretty much knew I wasn't going to get them until the following week, and when the order arrived everything was good and healthy.

Both times my inects arrived alive and well, but I don't want to wait a week for my insects just to save a few bucks in shipping. I always try to place an order on a Sunday so it's here by Tuesday, but what's the point if the arrival date is a mystery! lol

If they offered overnight shipping without me having to ask for it I would have no problem at all ordering from them.
