gravid?

I have a female veild chameleon and was wondering if she is will become gravid even if I do not try to breed her and what kind of substrate should I give her if she will be. Also how deep. I get many mix reviews. Please help. Not sure how to tell if she is or will be. He coloring is normal.

Read the blog please, it's a must-read for everyone who has a female cham. Yes, they do lay eggs, even if not mated. You have to provide her a laying bin.

Veiled chameleon females can lay eggs without mating once they are sexually mature. They also may not lay eggs then. It partly depends on the way they are kept IMHO. I always recommend providing a suitable place in the cage of any egg laying female chameleon to make sure that there is a place for her to dig to show you she needs lay them so there will be less chance of her b coming eggbound.
