am I correct to believe that because she has a great deal of black displayed that she is gravid. Egg laying bin in habitat, organic soil, correct moisture, etc... I have placed her in the bin a few times so she knows what it is and where to go to lay. I even put food in there so she is enticed to go over to it. Any thing else I need to do ( I do NOT want her to become egg bound) her sister is in the habitat with her. Should I separate them. Cover the cage. Normal schedule, for lighting, correct? Thanks!, Cindy

You are correct that you have a mature female, sometimes you get lucky and your female goes through her initial receptivity period without developing eggs (you didn't state her age) and what you are seeing in her color change is nonreceptivity. Females that have not seen or been exposed to males have a better chance of not developing eggs, BUT, you have to be conservative and provide an egg laying bin just in case! Normally it takes about a month to produce eggs from the time she starts displaying nonreceptive colors.
