Grasshopper source FYI

I’m not sure who has been getting their grasshoppers from where. As far as I know, we only have had two sources of https://dragonhoppers.com/ and Kai Phan on Facebook, and he was out of business for a long time due to health issues. I just wanted to pass the word that Kai Phan has recovered and is back in business with his hoppers.
If you haven’t yet tried grasshoppers with your animals, I encourage you to. They are a bit more expensive than our usual feeders, but one hopper is equivalent to at least 2-3 regular feeders and are quite nutritious. Whether for an occasional treat or an addition to your staple feeders, your animals will absolutely love them. If you even want to try cooking with them, I can tell you that Kai Phan can give you recipes.
I will advise against collecting your own wild ones unless you not only collect from an area that there’s no chance of any pesticides or chemical fertilizers and know that some insects, like lubbers which are a type of hopper are toxic and can easily identify them.

I have sold grasshopper plenty of times. However I have got only one colony going right now that I started in 2014. I think I am on generation F12 to F16. The colony I have got right now are not for sale at this time. However they could be in the future. The colony I have got going is Schistocerca nitens.

For those interested I have got Schistocerca Care Sheet Packages for sale about breeding Schistocerca nitens and Schistocerca lineata. PM me if you are interested.

Best Regards

I pre ordered from Khai back in September but haven’t heard back, figured he was out of the business and didn’t ship my order. Reached out a few times but got silent. Calling it a loss at this point. Hopefully Dean will have some soon.
