Good tall plants for climbing

Hello all,

I have a juevenile veiled in a large reptibreeze (18x18x36 in) and want to add more foliage. Right now I have some sort of flowering plant that has lasted for awhile and my cham loves it. On the bottom, I have a small pothos plant. As far as lighting I have a double dome fixture with a ceramic heat emitter and a basking bulb. For UVB I have a 14” reptisun T5 hood with a 5.0 bulb. I have a good foot of vertical space from the highest perching spot to the top of the enclosure and I want to add something to fill the space. What is a good, not too demanding plant that I could add that could fill a 3 foot tall space. I don’t want my cham to be able to get too close to the UVB. Let me know what y’all recommend. Thanks!

dracaena fragrans (aka corn plant) is my center piece plant. Tall, think trunk with plenty of strong stalks growing off it with big broad leaves for the cham to climb. I laced vines all through and around it for my options for climbing. Also put an umbrella plant in there to fill out the bottom and mid section. My chams preferred sleeping spot is actualy in the middle of one stalk of leaves.

Here is the best photo I currently have.

l think your Chameleon shouldn’t be short changed the last 3rd of the enclosure and you should suspend the dome lights over it and allow access to the top 1/3 of the enclosure. Your lighting is pretty dim and most plants will suffer under such low light. A pothos plant, I’m a hanging post should run you about $15 and you can remove the pot hanger, set the pot at the bottom of the cage, and use wire to fasten the vines to grow up the sides of the enclosure and wherever you’d like.

Schefflera (umbrella plant) is good and so are Ficus. I have a Pothos sitting in the bottom of the cage with stems tied up to the very top of the 4' cage. I really like since it is fuller at the bottom, I sometimes find her in it and the top is pretty open for feeding, sunning, etc.. If you look at Lowes you might find some hanging baskets with big pothos for around $10 - $12. You can also make a Pothos 'tree' with a stake in the middle.
