Today is a very sad day...
It is the one month anniversary of me getting baby Goliath the bearded dragon..it is also the day he died...
As many of you know, I have been struggling to keep the baby alive since the 28th of August..It had been quite a struggle. I did everything I could to keep this little man alive, but he starved to death...
I don't understand how he starved to death, I force fed him every day 3x a day, but he only ever ate on his own 2x..
After having him three days, he started being lethargic and not eating. I called the breeder who said "give him baby food and if he dies I'll replace him" so I did what he said.
Called the breeder back 3days later and said, "he's not getting any better, I think you should take him because you can save him"
he said "keep doing the baby food, it sucks, but if he dies
I can give you a discount", another three days went by
"well idk what else to tell you, if he dies maybe we can work something out"
I said "you can take him, you can probably save him, i'm in over my head"
he said "idk what else to say"
I stopped calling after that, kept on force feeding, mixing in the calcium supplement and pedialyte with the babyfood. He seemed okay one day, but then he would act like he was dying again the next day.
I kept doing everything, and then saturday he got up and ate 4 worms, and then when back to deaths door.
Well, yesterday I was afraid to feed him because I couldn't even force his mouth open, he was limp and he was not responsive. Except that he would take a deep breath.
This morning, I woke up and my poor baby was in ridgor...
I don't understand how he starved to death even when I would force feed him, and do everything I could to keep him hydrated.. Everyone even said my set up was fine....
