Going on Vacation

Hi All,

First, don't mind me. I'm not even sure why I'm bothering to write this except that if there is anyone who might understand me... they might be here LOL

I have had my first veiled cham since 12/1 and have been learning a lot. I'm totally obsessed with her and I think we are doing just fine. She amazing.

Every year, around this time, we go on a family vacation for a week. But I don't want to leave Ophelia! I'm so worried that something might happen while I'm gone. I know I'm being dramatic, but still...

Anyone else stress when they go out of town and leave their chameleons at home?

U can try find someone u can trust to babysit ur baby since u are away for a week,I know exactly how u feel,I been lock down for a whole year to group babysitting mine, its worst than being a 911 dispatcher finding out where they are all the time and try keep them safe n well before anything can happen

Get a good petsitter and train them well, that worked for me! Or, you can reach out to the forums to see if anyone here can cham-sit locally for you. I'm in Naples, FL if you need one! :D

Thanks - I knew I wasn't alone! Thanks for the offer absolutbill - I'm on the other side of the country (California), but I appreciate your kind offer.
I have a trusted pet sitter,; she has come twice this last week while I was home to do the routine while I was there (helicopter parent haha) and I know that she will do just fine. I will however, admit that I seriously considered a nanny cam for my cham LOL

I had to leave town for a week and left my scale babies with my mom. I tried to automate everything I could, I even made "Lizard Lunchables" so I knew they would eat just right... I actually made my mom Skype me every night so I could say goodnight to them. It was truly pathetic!

I write EVERYTHING out, and have a tiny scoop that's the perfect size for suppliments. I use an all-in-one, which makes life easier. My pet sitter won't touch worms though, so I have to have tongs available for her. I lay everything out on a towel with the list, so that it's about as dummy-proof as possible. My list is a day-by-day with what to feed, and how much. So far, so good, and the longest she's had to do it was 2 weeks.

I have something similar prepared and I have pictures LOL

Dude know the feeling, also live in California too! (Woot woot) I went on a week long camping trip and left Tony in the care of my parents with instructions and everything. And every time I had an ounce of service I called to see how he was doing and to remind them that though supers are easier to catch to please not only feed him that for the week. They said he was a good boy until about the third day of not being let out. Then he started "throwing tantrums" every time someone came in so they started letting him out for a little bit. He's spoiled rotten.
