HI please don't everybody think im an awful owner but im going away tommorow and will be back tues so i will be away for 4 days,
I have bought timers for the lights, i live in the uk so power cuts are rare.
I have got a waterfall just to use whilst im away for the 4 days, i know they are frowned upon but i cant afford a misting system at the moment and i just want to make sure he has access to water whilst im away since i wont be here to mist.
I have the water fall up high so he cant poop into it and its a small so theres nowhere he can fall in and drown.
And im going to buy a couple more feeder cups and put a good amount of hoppers in a couple and worms in one and feed him on thurs before i go.
I am still worried though, he is nearly 4 months old and i have no choice because i need to go away as its for a funeral and nobody can look after him for me, if he was older i wouldn't be as worried coz they eat less but what do you think the chances are of him starving in 4 days if ive left loads of bugs and worms in his feeding cups?
I could put some greens in too for the bugs so they last?

I'm so sorry to hear that you have to go to a funeral, I'm sorry for your loss. Do what you have to do!

He's going to starve in 4 days, don't worry. Not when you're leaving food for him, I'm sure that even if he gobbles up everything by tomorrow that he'll be stuffed until you come back.

The more important thing is water, and well, at least the waterfall is something! At least 4 days isn't a very long time, he can get a nice long shower when you get back.

Hi, if you dont have anyone to come in an spray atleast once a day. This is not ideal in anyway but as long as your chameleon is hydrated he/she can go the few days without.

If he/she is an adult they can go four days without food. I would not risk a hopper being lose at night with my chameleons.

Is making a dripper an option? Use a gallon jug or bigger if possible and set it to drip slowly.

We know you meant he's NOT going to starve in 4 days. :)

He will be fine. It sounds like you have made accomodations for him and so if he doesn't eat for a couple days as long as he has water he'll be okay. The waterfall is a good temporary solution in this case. Sorry for the circumstances and don't worry about your little guy back at home, he'll be ok!

Yes, of course, sorry! He is NOT going to starve.

Thankyou and thanks everyone for the kind words and advice, I will consider trying to put in a slow dripper im just worried it will overflow in 4 days, i usually hand mist and the water fall was purchased purely for this occasion and when i get back the waterfall will be coming out again and back to misting, the water worries me more than food tbh but i highly doubt he will die of thirst or hunger with a supply of food and source of water in his enclosure, in the wild they would adapt to conditions and survive if there was limited water or food and in this case he has both and i completely agree the waterfall is not ideal and eventually i will install a misting system when i have more time and money but for now i feel he has his basic needs taken care of.

He gets the hoppers in a feeding cup which is tall and i monitor them and since ive had him they have never managed to get out the cup and if he dosnt eat them all in one day they are still sat in the bottom of the cup.
