Help i was watching my cham eat and i looked at the soil on the plant and TONS of gnats are crawling aroundis it possible to get a bunch of water and water the plant to where it drains out to drown the gnats . i had this plant outside so im guessing they came from outside. i have had like 2 or 3 gnats flying in my room if i tell my mom she will be soooo mad because she doesnt really like my reptile :( cause of "salmonella" and she thinks if a gnat gets somewhere we will get it.
is there an easy way to kill these things?

no water will only make it worse there most likely fungus gnats they can come from over watering you can use a misquito dunk break a small peice off of it put it in water for 24 hours strain and water the plant slightly with the mix gnats should die

Hmm maybe some can catch salmonella. If these are fungus gnats or any other kind, are they safe for my cham? She hasn't got sick yet with the over a month I've had her..

up to you but that is what i use i use pro mix bx and it has no top soil in it it is peat based soilless medium

peat moss is great to grow in so you can use that. Peat moss is basically a bunch of crap that was dragged from the bottom of a swamp and strained.

They can carry salmonella. That's why you're supposed to wash your hands before (for the sake of them) and after (for the sake of you) holding them. You won't likely get it from holding them but their poop definately can give you it.

Well I def use hand Sanitizer before and after feeding or touching and def after poop clean up I wash my hands thoroughly hah. Sooo about.the gnats? She seems to be interested in them and have only caught her zapping 1 or 2 up these couldn't be bad right? Unless you don't want them in your house but they mainly stay in the cage. I haven't seen as many since I put rocks on top of the soil tho.
