Got everybody a fecal test today.

Kink. Lily and Kermit tested negative.

Glacier is positive for coccidia again, so Im picking up more ponazuril tomorrow.

and when i got home.. Glacier had prolapsed again. Had to help him get it back in.

Sorry to hear that Jessica. I hope this round of meds will clear him up. That coccidia is a real pita to get rid of. Have you ditched all your real plants in Glaciers' cage? Ive been told to get rid of all live plants until you get a clear fecal. And to repot all plants that were in there in new soil if you reuse them. Good luck.....

yea,hes on fake plants right now. ive kept him on fake plants since i got him.
and the ones he had were new, and then i cleaned them iin bleach to kill everything after we did the second dose of ponazuril.

figure ill just clean them after each dosing, then once hes clean he can get real ones

Im sad he prolapsed, he made it almost 2 weeks without prolapsing.

I just hope he doenst have to get it amputated. that will totally ruin any future plans, but if he does, he does, il do whats best for him.

I believe that the 40 volume peroxide like the kind you buy at a hair supply store is about the only thing to kill the coccidia. At least it worked for me.

Can your male see the girls? Sometimes just getting excited from seeing a female could cause a prolapse. I diffinately wouldn't consider breeding a male that had a prolapse before if he were mine.

and from what ive been told, the prolapsing is from the coccidia, so no worms, no prolapse. However, Im taking it one day at a tme, and seeing how he does.

ANd he cant be bred for at least another year. and depending how he does over the next severa lmonths, will be the determining factor.

I will do waht sbest for him, not me. so we shall see. but thank you for the concern.

that was in no way ignoring your opinion, and right now i am only focusing on getting him healthy.

poor little guy coccidia again and prolapse again. Glacier is really not having any good luck I hope it goes away with this treatment and he doesn't prolapse again! Good Luck Glacier We are all rooting for a speedy recovery

Im sorry to hear he still has Cocci and prolapsed again 40vol. peroxide is the way to go, unless you know someone who can get you 50 or 60.. There is another product being used by another member but I cant remember the name exactly Ill see if I can find it..
