Giant tomato horn worms

So I've been feeding Pasquale these large blue worms on the advice of the reptile guy who says they love them. But I've noticed after he eats it he spends the rest of the evening with his mouth open. Now these worms are big so maybe he's very full??

Honestly there is no real reason just feeding the worm would cause it, however it could have nothing to do with the worm at all. Unless you are getting the worms from the wild. If they have been eating tomato leaves then they are toxic. Also potatoes are a really bad gutload. You need to feed varying things that are healthier.

I get them like I said above from a reptile store. I'll switch potatoes for lettuce.

I have noticed this from time to time if my chameleon eats a very large one he will sit with his mouth open on occasion. If the behavior continues for an extended period of time it could be something to worry about though.

Good to know. Thanks.

You never actually said you got them from a reptile store, you just mentioned a reptile guy again. Which could be anyone who knows anything about reptiles. And honestly lettuce isn't a good gutload either, dandelion greens, endive, squash, sweet potato, there's a lot of different things that are good. Very few true lettuces have little health benefits even for humans. They have water, electrolytes and a few low levels of vitamins. There are much better vegetables and fruit out there.

Good to know. What about crickets I feed them veggies and all they seem to devour is lettuce all the other stuff gets moldy

Then yes, I would just replace the veggies more often, and make sure your bin is clean. Just because something lasts longer doesn't make it better, for example orange calcium water crystals.
