Well how do i get my veild out of his cage without forcing him out. Today i tried 2 bribe himm with some supers nohting happened. He basically doesnt like me, or wants nothing of me LoL. TipS???

usu mine will climb to the bottom of the cage to signal he wants too come out. u can put ur hand on his chin and coax him on.

If you have a need to get him out, like cage cleaning or Vet visits or what have you, some chameleons will never be coaxed out. You may have to grab him gently over his back with your fingers under his belly and then quickly get him out and on to something he can grab on to.

ive been bitten by my 1 yr old veiled and as long as he doesnt death roll on your hand u wont bleed. ive been bitten by a baby alligator and that was not too bad so a veiled cham wont b too bad. BE A MAN NO GIRLY MAN AGHAGHAGHAGH

Wear gloves or be a man?

WEAR GLOVES! Why risk it? Actually, I have a few that will bite that I will grab without gloves, but my female Veiled is like that girl in the exorcist that can turn her head all the way around.

Your signature still says baby Veiled-if that is the case MAN UP! :)

You either have super tough hands or your Veiled bites like a sissy! :) My female got me through the glove and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so glad my male has never even thought of biting or I would be in fear of losing fingers!

You guys kill me.
I wear gloves.
I have had my fingers turn purple from being bitten while wearing gloves.
Anyways, some chameleons are just hard to get out of the cage.
While wearing gloves, gently reach your hand around his belly, usually their front feet will be the first thing to let go, then use your other hand to coax them into releasing their back feet, now that you have all four feet off the branch and onto your hand, you need to watch out for the tail, they will swing it around to grab onto something, let them wrap it around your finger, that should be enough to get them out.
Remember, no fast movements and don't pry them off.
Beware of the inevitable head butt, gape, and likely bite.

Have fun

mine hates getting out but is nice when he gets out >.<

I usually get him out by putting an ankle sock on my hand and he didn't seem to mind climbing on it. I put my hand under his chin and he climbed right on

well i do have some nerve damage in my hands when it got crushed in a big metal door.
but my hand still didnt bleed.

Nice method Justin, great description.

I have handled Veileds for awhile and have never worn gloves. I have really only experienced one hard bite, it was right around the knuckle from the late Captain Mo and I wasn't even trying to handle him...He charged me with a lunging chomp as I was taking his mate out of the cage. It did draw blood... And it did hurt like hell.

My "no glove" method is a lot like handling a bird. To slowly come up under their front legs with your hand without being nervous about the bite. You are in perfect range at point, But I find if I stay calm and just find a steady way to get your finger under the front of their body they will grip it with their front arms and calm down, making it easy to use your other hand to coax them onto your hand, and slowly move them out and onto an awaiting plant. I think the trick to doing this without getting the crap bitten out of you is to be slow, calm, and confident...Keep those vibes and your less likely to stress the Cham. Then again some Chams just won't have it.

maintaining a positive energy will help your chameleon to be calm and submissive during handling :D:D:D:D:D:D

I watched too much national geographic this week.

Wear gloves! Mine even hurt my finger through the leather glove. They have a very strong bite. This, after a year and a half of never wearing gloves. Of course I was trying to get his lady out of his cage. LOL

DaM that bite was crazy, but 2marrow ima beast it wit no glove. Hopefully he doesnt bite me 2 death. My veild scared me 2day just by hissing, It waS LIKE WHOOOOO
