George has recovered completely!

George, my 2-3 month old veiled chameleon, has made a complete recovery from a lung infection and parasites which he was diagnosed with about a week after I got him. I wrote about him before and got some good advice in the health forum and this one. I spent almost 2 1/2 weeks giving him medications (prescribed by the vet). He would not take it two days in a row so I ended up starting his 10 days over. He's been off medications now for almost a week and is eating, drinking and going ALL over his cage. :D I checked local pet stores for calcium without D3 and for powdered vitamins but can't find any. Would someone please let me know the names of both and where I can get it. I have calcium with D3. Also, liquid multivitamin but this is not really working out so well so I'd like to get powdered. Thanks!

Thank you for the information. I give him calcium D3 every other day at this point. I was doing daily but some people said only twice a month although maybe that was meant for adults. So I started every other day as I did not have any without D3. I appreciate you sending the links and the advice. :)

I know he's a growing juvenile, but you still don't need to give him vit D3 every other day. An adult should get it once every 2 weeks but I wouldn't give it more often than that. It is safer to provide good nutrition through feeder gutloading rather than using dusts more often.

You want to give him calcium without d3 at almost every feeding. With D3 about 2 times a month. And for multi-vitamin 2 times a month as well.
