My gargoyle is still a thumb size little pip squeak ... So maybe it's a baby thing ??? But everytime I pick him up he poops or pee's on me

My crested hasn't done either. ....

Is this a gargoyle thing ? Any ideas to save my poor hands from being his bathroom ???

My adult cresties both did it - one more than the other as she wasn't used to handling whenI got her. I made a point of keeping her out after she'd done it so she wouldn't get to think she would be put back in her viv as soon as she pooped on me. They are both fine now apart from the occasional mishap, lol! Interestingly, I have 6 of their babies and none of them has pooped on me yet and the oldest 1 is now 12 weeks old. They have all been handled daily since hatching.

I've never had either, but the way I look at it is that your hands are generally easier to clean than a cage, so they are saving you some work! :D

My adult cresties don't poop on me, but the babies did sometimes. I don't handle them very often, just if I'm cleaning them out, then I stick them to the window screen in the kitchen and they sit and watch birds outside.

My blue tongue skink did that as a baby. I made sure not to put him back right after he did it so i didn't encourage him to poop to go back in his cage. He did out grow it, It was very annoying at first but we worked it out of him. All my other lizards never did that including my other BTS. I think its just a personality thing.

I was told by a lady who breeds lots of gecko species that male gargoyles always poop/pee on you when picked up but females don't. Don't know from experience if it's true or not.

It's actually funny... The past few days I've put a small piece of papertowel on my hand then put him on it and I haven't been pooped on since ... After a few minutes I take away the papertowel and still no accidents
