Garden Stones

Hey a while back I purchased some garden stones from home depot to block the soil on some plant pots. I have read a notice on the back reading : one or more of the componets contained in this product could contain chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or reproductive harm. I never really used them.

They look like medium sized river rocks. I have seen a few other members with these in their setups and was just wondering if they were safe to use?

They are called-Garden Stone Decor Exotic Garden Pebbles.

are they real rocks? or man made rocks?

The package has it as they were collected from various beaches and deserts. could they be sealed with something to make them look more shiney?

Error on the side of caution.
Try going to a real river or beach, collect some nice smooth rocks, bring them home and immerse in boiling water with a spoonful of bleach. And then use without worrying too much.
