So I went into my local pet shop today to get the usual (3 dozen large crikets and ffs) and I do my usual stroll around all the animals when I see the chams for sale. I take a looksee, and they have what it seems 3-4 month old veileds there which I am intrested in purchasing down the road. They were selling them for $50... or maybe $60 my memory isnt to good. Anyways I was wondering if thats a good price?

Also what's a good trade for one 3-4 month veiled? Considering I'll have a couple 3-4 month Jacks down the road.

lol dude that avatar has to go. Jacks are worth more than veiled. like 2.5-3 to 1. not sure why.

ps the bears suck :)

50 is a good price considering most pet stores sell them for like 75-100.
I paid 100 for pedro when he was that young.

And I paid 75 for pepper

Yeah I can't wait for Rodgers to run all over the division, the D looks very scarey too. :) GO PACK GO!!!!

Of all the veileds I have seen were all around 50-75 bucks for around that age. I think the price is pretty average but remember pet stores are notorious for horrible cham husbandry. Might be better use of your money to buy online from a good breeder. My 2 cents.

That is a good price. Napoleon was being sold for $100, but he happened to be on sale last month and I got an employee discount, so in the end he was only $60.

*edit*
I do agree the husbandry is almost definitely better with a breeder. I had no intention to buy my first cham from a petstore, but I absolutely fell in love with how calm and friendly Napoleon is, so I bought him knowing he might not be as high quality (in terms of breeding) as animals from breeders.

When you think you're interested in getting one, inspect them a little more closely and see what you think. It'd also depend on your personal preferences/priorities.

Not a bad price, for a Pet Store. Bought mine for like $50 from a breeder at 2 months.

If you aren't happy on the way he looks, you can always check out the Reptile Swap in Wheaton. They go for around $50 for a 4 month old one, older ones ofcourse a little bit more money. But atleast you can ask what the parents look like and ask the breeder questions.

I posted my Male Chameleon on Craigslist, don't know why I didn't post it here. for like $100, he might be sold tomorrow.
