Furcifer verrucosus

Verrucosus is an underrated species. I loved the spines, beaded pattern of their skin, the brilliant white on their throat and legs, and the bright turquoise and metallic green on the body when excited.

Great techniques.

It is my opinion as well that verru's are under rated. It seems once someone gets to lay their eyes on one of these beauties they tend to agree with that point as well. They are stunning and gentle , great size on them. The really transform in front of your eyes. Hopefully soon we will see some more CB verrus out there. I have a CB female in my collection currently. My WC are looking great and I hope to breed them in the near future.

what kind of cham is that? :p it looks really cool!
Furcifer verrusosus, sometimes called the spiny chameleon (others chime in if there are other common names); it is similar in size and husbandry to the Oustalet's chameleon (= Madagascar giant chameleon).

I've also seen them called the warty chameleon because of the rows of rounded buttons on their skin. Always felt it was an insult.

They also are known as the giant green spiny chameleon. They can get up to two feet long and are one of the more hardy types of chameleons (from what I have read). I am closing in on my first month of ownership with my verru. They really are awesome chameleons and the males have very pretty, underrated neon colors.

I'm celebrating a success- darling started to eat on Wednesday- first he ate a butterfly and a grasshopper and later he accepted dusted crickets :)
And he is just like you all said- shy- not eating in front of anyone.
I'll try to get him to the sunlight and get some "pissed-off" pictures.
