Furcifer antimena breeding

Two of my three unrelated furcifer Antimena pairs have mated and there are palpable eggs developing in both females. Lengthy incubation time but I’m hoping for eggs soon :)

A stunning species that tolerates high heat better than any chameleon I have kept. Females seem to only be receptive once they have developed a substantial purple pattern on their sides and cheeks.

Can you put something in a photo so I can see how big they are please? Very interesting species!

Tiny bit of information...

I don't think I have any photos with something obvious for a size comparison unfortunately. Perhaps I can do so in the future though :)

The males are maybe 2/3 the size of pardalis males, and females are 2/3 the size of pardalis females. With some variation of course. A nice manageable size!

Very cool!. I seen backwaterreptile had them for sale on there websites tho I never got anything from there before.
That website is so outdated that I'm surprised they still keep it running. The current stock of chameleons is at least 5 years + old and their prices and availability are totally inaccurate. I've not heard of many good experiences with them when they were still selling things but I can't speak personally to them as I've never purchased from there before.

Thanks! That's good enough! I just wanted a rough idea!
Can't wait to see hatchling photos!

Two clutches laid, although small numbers. This seems to be normal though. Hopefully more soon. Interestingly, they seemed to prefer laying in tunnels dug under leaf litter. I am going to experiment with incubation and see what I find.

Wow the leaf chameleon! Great pics. I bet its hard to find info on them! You need to keep a journal and become an ecpert on them! Incredible!

I’m glad someone is breeding these guys. I think their care is similar to that of verrucosus and oustaleti.
I’ve seen WC individuals selling for $150. I think recently on reptile pets direct? I’ve also seen them on UG reptiles around the same price.
