Fruits for my veiled

What fruits are ok for my male veiled because I just gave him some banana and he had some apple before.

My veil will not eat fruits but I tried strawberries and grapes. I see pictures on here of other cham eating these so I guess they are safe. Jann

out of my 4 veileds, one eats strawberries...just little pieces. I hand fed her a piece when she is small and now she eats from a dish. She has learned that she can't use her tongue to slurp it up but has to bite it. Took awhile though. Two others eat kale. My only male will have nothing to do with veggies or fruit, just wants MEAT!

yeah my veiled bites the banana its so funny lol. He likes apple to. I think ill try other but sparingly as I don't want him to go off anything.

hay my chams eat all fruit and veg they love it, i think if i let them they would eat it all the time, but that aint no good
mine eat: apple, bannanah, peach, pear,strawberry, orange(sometimes) collard greens, dandilion, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes(sometimes) they even eat brocilli...... if you want to be sure just reseach the veg or friut on the net to see if its piosonous if its not try it with them, hope that helps

when you say dandilion do you mean the yellow flower that is very common (well it is in england).

tomatoes(they even eat brocilli...... if you want to be sure just reseach the veg or friut on the net to see if its piosonous if its not try it with them, hope that helps

You named two vegetables that are bad for your chameleon to eat, and you feed them after warning someone else not to.

You want to avoid Tomato, Broccoli, and spinach.
These vegetables can inhibit the absorption of calcium.

Stick to feed your chameleons potato chip thin slices of veggies and not fruits.
Cucumber, sweet potato, and zucchini are some of my favorites.

Do not feed it spinach. Do a little research on the foods you give even if you think they are good -- spinach is high and oxalates and can bind to calcium to prevent absorption.
As far as carrot goes, it's high in sugar... no wonder he liked it.

Do research prior to feeding anything to your chameleon... it may be the difference between a vet bill or MBD in the future, especially if you fed this to him often.

My veiled likes grapes and banana. I do not feed it often, though.

Mine guys sure do eat fruit and veggies now. They would probably eat them everyday if I offered them but I only offer them once a week.

Check this site out for nutritional information...
carrot...15g has 1 g of sugar...calhos...1:1
banana...225g has 28g of sugar...bad phosphorus to calcium ratio too.
grapes....151g have 23g of sugar...calcium/phos....1:2
dandelion greens...no sugar...calhos...3:1 (almost)
collards...no sugar...calhos...13:1 (approx.)

Unfortunately the site doesn't indicate things like oxalates or other things that should be avoided.

Here I list the nutrients in many of the commonly used veggies and fruits. Included also is an entry regarding which are higher in calcium that others, and at least one that lists Oxalic Acid info.

I would suggest trying apple (thin slices), papaya, dandelion greens, melon, and thin small pieces of carrot.

so what fruits are safe for them to eat? thing is i can try stuff thats new to them, my jackson most likely will go for it, my female veiled will, my male veiled wont, and my new panther im not quite sure yet.
