Fruit flies in reptibreeze cage?

I have some of the Meloganster (spelling.) fruit flies. If I put them in my reptibreeze cage for my panther, will they escape? They look smaller than the openings but I am wondering if anyone has done this and knows for sure.

I've tried it before and yes they can get out through the screen. How old is your panther?

You can "encourage" them to stay in the cage if you keep some fruit available. If they can detect food outside the cage they'll go find it.
