Friendliest chameleon ever?

So I've been reading and finding out that most chameleons are very grumpy or antisocial, but mine seems to always want to come out and play? I open his cage to spray his enclosure down and he goes to climb on my hand. I was thinking that maybe he wasn't comfortable in there but he is fine till I get close to his cage. Anyone else have a very social cham?

Well, I'd say there is a definite spectrum of personalities. I would not go so far as to say a cham wants to "play" with you, but that he sees your hand as a way to get someplace outside his cage and that he has learned you are not a threat. Some chams never get to this point, some chams know you are not a threat but don't like to be bothered by anyone. Some are just mellow and relaxed. I had a huge wc female melleri like that from the day she arrived. In the same free range I had a crabby little male melleri who would happily remove your finger.

i had a really nice tamatave male that would walk up to the door of the cage when he saw i had a bucket of crickets and wait for me. and mind you his fav basking spot is a good 7 feet away from the door. and when i opened it he would sit in striking position and eat like 15-20 crickets at a time and some times more then once a day. he didint like to cup feed much.

Ha sorry didn't mean that literally.
