Fresh setup opinions please

Most likely just settling. I would release some in the cage and some in a cup for him to eat from so he has a few options.

I use the plastic party cups for cup feeding as they can easily be chucked away.

I'd have thought that was too deep for a baby?

You can always cut it so it is not as deep but should be fine. You can put a stick in so if he falls in can get out although some crickets will escape.

Looks good. Hopefully it is a male. Is very hard to sex them when they are so small.

If sexing is the game, I'd say a male by the looks of that photo! No inverted dent that would signify a lady, and a TINY bulge that would point towards male.

How many 2nd size crickets should be be eating a day?? I'm going to get him some fruit flies tomorrow

It depends really but about ten minimum really. He shouldnlike the fruit flies hopefully and eat quite a few.
