Frequency of Infertile Clutches?

Does any one know how often female veileds cycle infertile clutches? Amy liad her first infertile clutch back in November at the age of 20 months and has not laid again since. I fed her well for a few days after then cut her right back to 4 crickets 3 times a week. Is there a set time between clutches or are they all different? My first female, Lily, laid her infertile clutches exactly 4 months apart almost to the day.

It can be as often as 3 to 4 months apart but from the info I've read from Lynda (kinyonga), with lower heat and less food is can be allot less often or never.

In a study I read they said every 120 to 132 days a clutch could be produced if the chameleon wasn't ever mated...but the food control along with the husbandry (including supplements and gutloading/feeding the insects, IMHO) can make that even longer or even stop reproduction altogether.

I find this topic very interesting. I had bought a female who had a retained clutch, you could plainly see how ginormous she was! It was winter and she was in the basement, her temps were on the cooler side and she never laid the eggs, she must of absorbed them, and she ate a lot. I ended up breedeing her and moved her upstairs where it was warmer and she laid exactly one month later. I was a bit perplexed!

I find it interesting that diet and temps can control and even prevent clutches

My first female (Lily) was overfed and kept too warm for a female. I now realise that, and have as a result, have kept Amy's temps down in the low 80's and feed her 3 or 4 food items 3 times a week. She'll get a little fruit or veg on Sundays and she has a couple of rocket leaves on most days.
