I have several large plants around the house that serve as free ranges when I'm at home and I spent a while looking for a basic lamp that I could drag around between them depending on where lizard friend was sitting. He spends most of his time in the cage with the uv light, but I like to let him out when I can. In the winter we keep our house pretty cool, so if he was sitting near to the drafty window I wanted him to have a lamp
Adjustable lamps are stupidly expensive - so this was my solution
A chicken lamp on an IV stand. It cost less than $40 and does everything I need it to: it can adjust up and down and it is on wheels.
Not the most beautiful thing, but I've been using it for a few months now and it has worked really well for me, maybe it will help one of you!
Here are amazon links for what I got:
http://amzn.com/B000G31FZK cheap IV stand (popular for cats with kidney failure apparently)
http://amzn.com/B0061MZ4Q6 Chicken lamp - big reflector and the socket probably won't burn down the house
And pictures
