My sentiment still stands albeit with OP's parents. Ultimately any adult who allows a child to get a pet must understand that they take responsibility for the health and well being whether it be lizard, bird, rodent or anything else.

I stress my intention was never to start a debate or to insult anyone, but I will say what I think which is why I believe my presence here is not for the best. If all my post ever does is makes one reader stop and ask if they really should take on a pet then I'm happy. Again I wish you and Hope the best of luck and really do want every success as an outcome to this situation.

So went to the vet and it was a lot better news than I thought. He said that she did indeed have MBD. Her jaw was weak so she hasn't been able to eat anything solid and wont anything solid for a while. There are no broken bones. He gave me a liquid calcium to supplement the dry mix formula that he also gave me. She will need to be tube fed for a while until she gets strength back because right now she can barely move. But the diet formula he gave me has a mix of everything in it along side the liquid calcium. He said she should regain a lot of her strength within 3 months and start to see improvements after about a month. He also said it was too early to tell but she may never climb again. He is hopeful though because she does still have a grip and shows some signs of strength in her limbs still. For those who are curious of the vet I see, his name is Dr. Larry White. He is in Houston, Texas and is outstanding with reptiles. He was very involved with the Houston herp society for quite some time and was even part of a chameleon study research team back in the 90's.

I think you did a great job with her home, that is just exactly how I said. You getting little Hope is just that for her, hope. Without you going to get her, taking her to the vet, and being willing to spend time and money giving her a life, she would have needed to be put down.
