Freaked - USPS hasnt arrived w/my cham!

At least you know the cham is in Ca and not in the back of a truck somewhere. I'd be quite upset also but unfortunately sometimes things are beyond our control. Im sure he doesnt want to see his cham come to any harm any more than you do. Good luck and I hope you get him 2morrow safe and sound..

Here's the update I received from the seller :
"He wont arrive until TOMORROW. He didn't ship. He's in the facility in CA. I did not have an ice pack so I soaked paper towels in water and froze them. It works just as well. I think he is fine since he's in CA and not SC right now. It's not that hot here today so he should be fine. I've had situations like this and I can assure you it's not certain death if he doesn't survive. He's more likely to survive if he's in an air conditioned facility rather than a delivery truck all day. Only think we can do it wait and see. I have no control over the shipping so there's not reason to get upset with me...."

I am not sure where he's getting the info that the cham is in CA. The USPS tracking # is EG910933338US. I have called and have been granted the same info avail on the website and I can't contact a "live" person.

NOR can I spend all day waiting tomorrow for a chameleon that might not arrive until 3pm! I have kids to shuffle back and forth and made arrangements for them today but I can't do it again tomorrow. If the cham is still at the facility, he needs to go pick him up and refund me.

I am REALLY REALLY disappointed - and angry

if he is in cali so cali anyways its 100 plus today an no ice pack? a frozen paper towel WTF!!!! i just gotta know ...

have you told him you want your money back and for him to go pick the cham up before he ships?

this is completely bogus. i would email him and say that right away, i know you posted it here but i dont know if you sent it to him. thats what i would do anyways.

bleh.

No one knows where the animal is. I've called USPS. THEY DON'T KNOW. I told him to go pick him up and he said he couldn't because he's at the airport. I believe that's wishful thinking -

I told him (assuming the animal arrives alive), he will be in bad shape and I expect a 10 day health guarantee. If he arrives dead I will snap a photo and expect a full refund. Yes, I am upset - and he should be also.

Imo your best bet right now would be to ask for a full refund right now and take your business somewhere else. This just all seems a little flaky if you ask me.

i see a fauna thread coming..

Should I ask for a refund? I don't feel good about this at all anymore.. I really don't. He's not being very apologetic and a little humility goes a long way - He keeps explaining about the temps and facility/airplane temps - which I could give a rats ass about because no one knows this animal isn't on a tarmac or on the USPS truck in the heat..

i was at the post office yesterday for an hr gettin an overnite package off an they dont have that box sittin in the air cond, an as for a frozen wet paper towel instead of a cold pack shipping across the us pony express? i dont think so this person should be ashamed of themselves for tryen tell you that

My only experience with a cham being delivered late and that was only 4+ hrs late by FEDEX was a dead Adult Ambanja. And that was coming from San Diego to Phoenix. I hear you and I am sorry for your situation.

Thanks guys, for all your support and helpful information. At this point, regardless of condition, I have asked for a full refund because it's the RIGHT thing to do. BEST CASE scenario, he's going to be on the brink of death and require intensive care that I'm not even sure I'm skilled enough provide. A refund is the right thing - period. the end.

When your cham shows up... open the box. take him out, place him into the cage and give him a good loooong mist and offer some food. other than that, leave him alone to recoop.

If it makes you feel any better..... I shipped one of my Express misting systems to Iowa on Friday night at 8pm... after the post office closes. The recipient received the package Monday afternoon. That is pretty dang fast.... but who knows the temps it went through, and hardware isn't anything like a live animal... obviously...

Hope all is well.

for the record..i just want to say..i hope all the best..F*** usps!!!..i hate those lazy basterds..it may actually be on its way..i found out that usps tracking is a scam..they dont update the information untill 24 hours later..they say that is close enough to "real time tracking" its all bs so they could act like they are as good as ups or fed ex....

Okay, unless I'm missing something

I was going to help out and go pick the chameleon up on my way home tonight. But it looks like the package shipped out Monday after 5:00pm from the info. I have.

"Your item was processed through and left our SANTA ANA, CA 92799 facility on August 01, 2011 at 5:12 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination."

this sucks. i hope your cham arrives safe and i'm very disappointed to hear this. makes me think twice about who i'm ordering from...

at this point, you have an animal coming to you. its not the animals fault of a lazy shipper or carrier. he depends on you now to help him out of this. i personally dont think you should jump to refund status yet. see what happens tomorrow and go from there. im not sure if it allowed by usps but you can ask for the package to be left at a facility for your pick up. then you wont have to wait around for the package. you can go get him as soon as the office opens.

i understand your concern but this is what you sacrifice whenever you decide to ship in any circumstance. things happen and you have to make due if at all possible when it does.

summoner gave some good advice.

if you need any help with him you can post here for advice.
