found in my ficus pot

i found this in a ficus pot of mine there are over a dozen that i removed
firstly what is it
second, is it toxic
and third what the #@%$ is it haha

How big is it? It looks like a millipede to me... I have seen them in plants and dirt before.

I have some of them too in my indoor cage! I kill them if I see them! I think they came in the new plant I got at home depot. If they are toxic I hope my chameleon has not eaten any of them!

I suggest you get rid of the soil and clean the plant by washing all the dirt off and the pot it was in even get a new one and then repot it in organic soil.

Its a centipede. Not sure if they are toxic but u would avoid it anyway. Millipedes are toxic and some contain arsenic. Avoid them at all costs lol

It is not a centipede. It's 100% a millipede. But they do produce cyanide, which is obviously fatal in large enough amounts.

i used to raise these(not this same species though), they secrete the cyanide as a defensive mechanism if they are touched.

defiitely re-pot the ficus and wash the pot well.

actually, looking back at the pictures, the little wormy things I have seen in the cage do not have antennas. So I have to do some research and find out what they are. I am still getting rid of the plant and soil regardless. I am thinking of going all fake as my cham does not spend all that much time in the indoor cage as far as humidity and all that. I am tired of dealing with plants dying and what not!

lol my thoughts exactly, well i collected them and threw them out to the freezing cold winter muahahah
but i will be re potting the plant this spring, fyi the plant is not in either of my chams cages
