Found a Slightly Deflated Egg

If minimal people are viewing that area, and I see it as an important topic and need an answer, I don't mind posting. If the moderators with to delete one, they can, but I love these animals and want to give them and their eggs the best possible care. I am new to this, this is very important to me, and I don't mind asking twice if I didn't get an answer quickly the first time. I want these little ones healthy if I can help it!

I NOW have my answers. If rudeness is not the intent, and you are not giving me an answer, please don't respond to the thread.

I just wanted to help you out.. one thread is enough, you can just bump it up.. or do what is easier, use the search function.. deflated eggs has been discusses various time and quite in depth at times.

Just my two cents on the matter...

I can see why she is posting in two different areas. With members normally viewing a specific topic, some more knowledgable people on the subject may not be viewing the topic where she first posted the thread. So by posting in two different locations, she can get better chances of someone replying that better understands her dilemma sooner. Also having it in two different areas will allow that many more people that are viewing specific topics to be able to reply to her post.

For someone that is new to having eggs, this can be a very stressful time and when something occurs, that that person may think to be a vital moment for the eggs, which it was, it should be understandable to others for that particular person to be in a sort of panic and try anything to get someone's attention that can help.

And on a sidenote-

when you say I don't mean to sound rude and then reply with a very blunt statement, you should expect responses bashing you for that. It's like how a lot of people these days will say things like, "I don't mean to offend you", and then they follow that with something extremely offensive.

And just saying, I'm not trying to start an argument with either parties, I just wanted to share my 2 cents to let the ones that are actually quarreling to see how it looks to someone watching from the sidelines.

As I said, you can just bump up your thread.. There is no need for 2 different ones.. It just disperses information in 2 different locations, rather than all condensed in one. I understand that the op would be worried about the eggs, but there are other ways to get the info.. Once a thread has been started, you'll get answers.. the op already had the answers in the original thread. If that doesnt happen in the time the op wanted, the search function works wonders. This forum has been around for quite a long time and this topic has been covered various times. there is a vast amount of information, you just gotta look for it.

Anyways, this thread is way off topic and the answers have been given in the original thread.. theres no use for this one anymore.

Right I hear you but look.

I have realized that the way most people navigate through the forum is they acutally go to forums, select on one of the topics (breeding, food, etc) and stay on there rather than going to New Posts, which is what I generally do unless I'm looking for older posts that are no longer viewable under New Posts. At least this is how I assume most members navigate through the forum. If by some shere coincedence, no knowledgable members are viewing the topic where she posted for a while it could take her a lot longer to get answers. By putting it in two different places she betters her chances of a more knowledgable member responding to her.

And again, she is very stressed about this being new for her and we should be more understanding for her. It's not like she committed a serious crime by posting the same thing in two separate locations, and a mod can get rid of one. You didn't really have to respond to her by saying "dont mean to be rude, but you dont have to start various threads for the same thing." It was almost like you were asking for an argument because saying something that could be misunderstood as rude, especially if the person you are directing your comment to is stressed or having anxiety and is in a very emotional state, then you can bet that the majority of the time they will think you're coming off as rude.

Any ways I feel theres no real need to argue at all becuase she got her info and she didn't cause any kind of harm in posting the same thread twice

And I swear, VeiledChams, if you try to argue with me now about something you can bet I will hold out on those Bird Grasshoppers ;):p:)

One last thought thought.. The threads belong to the same topic, so they end up in the same section anyways. I always look at the new posts so i see all of the sections at once.

but whatever man, as said before.. no point in keeping this thread alive.

And you better not hold back on those hoppers! hahaha :D

It's no problem buddy :). It's like I said I'm not trying to really argue with anyone I just wanted to point out what the situation looked like from where I was standing. I mean personally, if it were me that was in her position, and read comments about not posting the same thread twice, and don't mean to sound rude, when I'm looking to see if theres something going on with my first clutch and if they're dying, I probably wouldv'e flipped 5h!+ lol.

To start off as I thought this was pretty funny and appropriately timed: Ignorance, Rudeness, and Arrogance will get your a$$ kicked(sorry but thought this way too easy to pass up :D:p;))

But sereiously, I'm just curious as to what you are explaining here:

Are you stating that they end up in the same section beingthe 5 groups (under Chameleon Husbandry). If so I meant the different topics and sections as being placed in General Discussion and Chameleon Breeding.

But like you said, it's time to put this thread to rest :D

And I won't hold out on you with the hoppers.......I'll just charge you extra ;)

On another note, speaking of not keeping this thread alive, and putting it to rest reminds me a serioulsy ancient thread I tried to revive the other day. It's crazy. Check it out-

hahah, holy crap thats old.

And yeah, when you start a thread, if you didnt start it in the right topic, moderators will move it to the appropriate place.. She started the first the the breeding section, and this on one on general discussion.. if this thread would have contained answers, it would be moved to the same section as the original. Case and point, no use in making another thread.. Just bump up the original..people actually answer haha.. rarely does a thread go unanswered here

Oh, haha, forgot about the thread being moved to it's proper location. I mean I knew it would be moved but I had like a brain fart about since it's going to be moved it will be right with the other thread. Ok I understand what you meant now.

;)
Guess I get a break on those hoppers :D

Guess so...lol

Man it's really killing me to think about them because I want to just get an enormous colony of both, but they haven't shown themselves yet this year.

I did however find a younger Bird Grasshopper of some species. Pretty sure it's either Obscure or American but I can't tell because I can't find pics of juveniles, but it is a solid light brown with the yellow stripe down it's back and has all the other features of a Bird Grasshopper. Guess only time will tell as I have it in a container feeding it fruit and waiting for it to grow...it's about 1 1/2" long.

At least you get some.. I need to go out and look for some around here, I just have a pretty busy week this week, 4 exams.. too much crap going on in college now.

I will try to go to a close wooded area right near the everglades that should yield at least a few insects.. hopefully i dont run across a gator or a water moccasin!

Haha you scared of bigger and more dangerous reptiles ;)

I think gators are incredible, and I love snakes, but whenever I encounter one a moccasin I get shivers down my spine and the hair on my neck stands up.
