Force Feeding Creates appetite?

Well George still has horrible edema, cant figure out what is causing it so far blood work and fecal are normal. Anyway, he had only had 2 isopods in 10 days and I was beginning to worry. I tried to put a silk worm in his mouth but he spit it out. Then I made some bug juice and was only able to get him to eat 0.5mL before he pushed the syringe out and began fighting me. After that I felt just sick and so upset.

I let both of us calm down for a bit and tried feeding him. And what do you know he ate 2 isopods and 3 roaches! I was so excited and am thinking the bug juice created an appetite or he decided he didn’t want to deal with that battle again and better just eat normally.

My boys love to stress me out. If it isnt Rex with his mouth cut that keeps opening or the bearded dragon who also isnt eating, its George UGH.

Oh poor George, and poor you!
Maybe it kicked his appetite off, like if I don't eat bfast, I don't feel hungry until late afternoon. If i do eat earlier on, I will eat more regularly.
Or maybe like you said, he didn't want the juice again.
Hope he continues to eat.

Funny you say that- I had a panther once who stopped eating while on meds. Same thing but I was using the Zilla calorie supplement. If I could get the least bit down him he would eat on his own within the hour. Must be like the chips and salsa before the big enchilida dinner!

Haha, I like the comparison. I am just happy it worked and he ate. I get so upset when I have to force them to do things they dont want to.
