So I was wonder for those that keep 2 or more chameleons... I know males cant live together and if u put 2 enclosures right next to each other u should put something in between the cages like a cardboard or something so they cant see each other, right?

So, its not a good idea to put the cages across the room from each other also? Should i put the cage so they cant see each other at all? So its best to put their cages on the same side of the room but with a solid barrier to prevent them for seeing one another?

Can they smell each other and get stressed out? How about if I take one outside of his enclosure while the other is still kept in his cage in the same room..will they get upset and stressed out cuz they see each other? Would I be able to take both of them out of the enclosure together?

Sorry for the questions...Ive been thinking about getting another cham but I want to get some info and address some of my concerns before I jump into another one. If its too difficult then I'll just stick to one. I currently have a Amilobe...but I love the colors of the Anbaji, Nosy Be or Nosy Faly...

Thanks in advance

hello
when cages are next to each other it is best to put a visual barrier between the cages
with regards to cges being placed accross from each other distance and ease of view are important as well as the individual chams as well. same goes for when one is out and one still caged.
i have a veiled that even at the sight of a cham across the room will get him going and others that seem to totally be fine when they can see others.
as far as smells im not to sure

Yep, I keep my males all in the same room and put visual dividers between cages. They have a very poor sense of smell and don't care a bit about being near each other as long as they can't see each other. I take them out one at a time all the time and as long as they only see each other for a minute or two none of them have ever cared. Yours might be different so you'll just have to see what works best for their individual personalities!

depends on the chameleon. Mine dont have a problem seeing eachother, visual barriers are best to have, but if i have one out, they wont get stressed. I find that in large cages, like mine, or freerange setups, they will be more comfortable seeing other chameleons as they have plenty of places to hide or run

Very suiting piece of advice..

If you decide not to put dividers up. Watch resting colors, position in the cage where they choose to rest or spend more of the time, appetite, activity and so on. If you see one of them acting strange. Get a divider up.

Really from my observation with panthers. If one hasnt established territory or confined with each other in a small space. They generally dont care. Ive seen veileds on the other hand try to fight through cages.

Thanks everyone for their advice.... I guess I'll just have to do some experiementing if I decide to get a second cham
