Fog machine for humidity question.

I just got one of those fog machines today with the tube you put into the cage that looks like fog. I got this because my humidity on the top of the cage is only around 27%.
Will this work good. Does anyone use one? Thank you

we bought a repti fogger and used it for our enclosure. but it didnt do anything for the top section but made the bottom 100%. so we turned it on the low setting and sealed off sections of the screen. it made the entire cage 100%... this is a 2ft wide x 2ft deep x 4ft high cage. so we 86th the fogger and just use an automatic sprayer and more real plants and that works best

The general rule I've been told is to first get a misting system and if that doesn't get it where you need it then get a fogger. I have both a fogger and misting system because of such low humidity here. I just picked up both for the Jackson's I'm getting tomorrow.

I was wondering instead of having the hose run through the top of my cage should i run it through the bottom, that way the vapor will run up the top of the cage instead of running the hose through the top causing the vapor to just sit at the bottom.

You want to just run the expandable tubing to the top of the cage, and angle it straight down onto/into the cage.

Having a plant/lots of foliage underneath it will maximize its effectiveness, as water will collect on the plant, and the plant/foliage will disperse it over a wider area.

Having close to the heat lamp, can heat the air/fog up enough, to have it hover, and create a cloud in the enclosure.

I am one of those that love mine. I used some pvc to connect it to more then one cage and it works great. I got it so it not only fogs, but drips so there is dripping on leaves below the fogger and plenty of fog in the cage raising my humidity in my panther cages to 60-75%. That and my spraying 2X/day makes happy panthers.

Will the fog damage the bulb if there is fog getting on it?
Right now i have the tube on the bottom pointing up so its pointing the fog to the top of the cage and all the foliage above the tube. Thanks for the advice.

I would not let the bulb get wet.

Water and electricity do not mix.

Having it near it is enough, and the heat of the bulb should keep it dry.

The hose runs through the top of the cage and through the bottom. The vapor usually run up the top of the cage in spite of running the hose through the top. It will cause the vapor to just sit at the bottom. There are fog machines for sale that you can purchase by browsing through the Internet.
