Fly feeding techniques

Melleri discovery has a neat method of seperating houseflies into cups with some doughy gutload smeared on the walls so you can just hang the cups in the cage when you want tohttp://melleridiscovery.com/ Does anybody use this method? It seems a lot easier than rationing out pupae, hatching them, and then chilling them so you are able to handle them. I figure 20 pupae in 20 cups, and then just switch out the cups hanging in the cage every so often sounds like a great idea. right now I just keep all the flies in one huge container and then freeze them and pick out what I need, anybody else use a different method?

Just thinking of new ideas for my new melleri...three weeks is gonna be a long wait:D:D

I got tired of freezing for every feeding and use those containers with the small foam insert in the middle of the top. I hold the container near the top screen and tilt the foam stopper back, and the container downward a bit to direct them, and just let a few flies come out. 99% of the time they go straight towards the UV/heat light, and rarely ever do a bunch come out at once. I only cool them when I need to dust them now.
