Just as the title states, I am looking for some fluorescent fixtures. I have a bunch of 24 inchers, but I'm looking to upgrade sizes for my larger cages. I am looking, first and foremost, for a fixture (more than one probably) that will fit a 36" reptisun. I am also interested in 48" fixtures. If anyone has some extras let me know! I don't want to pay an arm and a leg, which is why I'm looking here first.

Thanks :D

Home depot carries the "lithonia lighting" 48" fixtures for like $7 bucks here. Affordable 36" fixtures are hard to find which is a bummer cause like 10 reptisun 5.0's went on clearance at petco for like $8 and i was about to buy the whole lot.

Thanks guys! I have been to Home Depot, and I didn't see any decently cheap fixtures that were plug in, only the hard wired fixtures. And I know you can turn those into a plug in, but I don't have a clue how to do that. Are the ones you were referring to hard wired or plug?

This is the one downside of using these lights...Just find someone who is technical to do it for you the first time and show you how... I am horrible with electrics...but I had my Boss wire mine for me...and I love it.

If you have a lowes check by the bulbs. They have them wired for $8

Really?? Even the large ones like that? I'll have to check that out!

Yeah that will be my last resort, but having someone else do it for me is probably the way to go. If it comes to that!

its pretty easy to wire them, just buy a length of wire and a plug( both are for sale at home depot) strip both ends of the wire and attatch them to the light and the plug, you can secure the wire to the light with some electic tape. i did it in about 5 min.

They have the 48" plug-ins at walmart for like 12 bucks. We were in the same predicament Kat, all we could find at our Home Depot were the diamond plated plug-ins for like $40.

I'll have to check Walmart again (even though I can't stand that place).
When I was there all they had were the regular 24"ers, but if they really do have 48"ers for $12 I'm definitely going to check that out! Thanks!
