Flukers vines with veiled Chameleon?

I have been hearing about how fake plants are bad with veiled chameleons. Is this true with all fake plants, or just certain ones. The only fake plants I really have is a few Flukers vines (https://www.amazon.com/Flukers-Repta-Vines-Pothos-Reptiles-Amphibians/dp/B0009YEB70) I tried to rip it just to test if a cham could take a bite out of it and I couldn’t. Does anyone else have experience with these vines in particular?

Anything fake isn’t really good for them especially if you have a veiled, since they tend to chew on foliage they can eat the plastic leaves and become impacted. I wouldn’t take any chances, chameleons are way stronger than we give them credit for.

Yes, I didn’t think about that. Do you think a veiled would pull the leaf off and try to eat it? The leaf is still pretty big.

My girl Coda are a hibiscus leaf 2 times her size.

Do you have any suggestions for real plants that would have a similar look/affect? I feel like my tank would be pretty bare without those vines

Yeah, I think I’m going to trade some of those vines out for some vines instead.

Even fake vines can become an issue. If there is any sort of texturing on the outside of the vine, when the Cham is starting a shed or has even an itch and they go to wipe their eye the texturing can come off and get into their eye causing irritation.

An actual pothos? Lol

Pothos are wonderful. They have thick, hardy vines. You can trail the vines all over the cage for highways for your chameleon to travel.

Also, grape vine or driftwood. My reptile shop close to me sells nice twisty pieces of driftwood and grapevines and my chameleons seem to really like it.

It is just a baby right now. Lol. But they had huge ones for only $12 that would fill the entire top half of a 2x2x4 reptibreeze

I recommend you use real ones. Again, i honestly recommend grape vines or driftwood. Let me take a picture of a couple pieces I have right now.

Real branches are free and easy! Just make sure it's not a sap producing tree

Stay away from pine and cedar.
