Floyd's New Free Range

I have been thinking about doing something with Floyd's cage recently to give him more room and feel less "caged." I was surfing the forum last night and got some cage inspiration. So today it all came together. I found a cheap shelving unit on craiglist and then got some other materials and this is now what I have. What do y'all think?

It looks great and he'll love it but expect him to roam so have his room Cham proof.

It is. I've had him in a semi free rage set up where his cage is always open. And out of the 6 months 9 months I have lived at my current apartment he hasn't left his plants a single time. Which is surprising because my Jackson's used to explore everything! But the room is indeed cham proof.

Hey, it looks great! It just amazes me how much some people can accomplish in such a short time!

He really hasn't explored very much which is surprising. The only time he has been in the free range off of the hanging pothos was when I put him in for the first time. Don't chameleons explore all new territory? Then again, my guy is not really the explorer...

One warning is I'd attach it to the wall In one way or another of you plan on putting much on the front shelf I had to on mine mostly just for security purposes but it was a little tipsy just a heads up ;)

It was more for just crawl space/vine connection right now. I won't attach anything until I order some posts, which I may order from Amazon. Thanks for the heads up though, without that plant there I'd be worried of it possibly tipping. But with that there it's very secure.

In my experience, they tend sit just sit there, and look everything over very thoroughly before they are comfortable enough to explore.
It may just take him some time to feel comfortable, and realize that it is HIS territory.

He hasn't really explored AT ALL though and I'm worried because if he doesn't he wont get the heat and UVB he needs... Not only that I want him to enjoy his new cage. Maybe over time he will come around.

Well, I closed the blinds and lowered the plant he wouldn't leave in a way "forcing" him to explore. I managed to get him on my arm, took him downstairs and he seemed to be more calm. I then took him outside for a bit which he seemed to really enjoy. As I was leaving I caught him feeding out of his feeder jug which is obviously nice and then started to explore some. Feeling better about it.

Is he due for a shed? My guy sits in one place for days it seems just before a shed, and hardly eats either.

he actually shed yesterday, I think because I put Floyd in the shower for about 20 minutes. It obviously helped. I also think because I lowered the far left plant and he doesn't really have a place to "escape to" making things more confined helps. As he gets used to it I might move it back.
