Floor protection..

I'm in the process of building a cage for my first ever chameleon, and I have nice wood floors at home... what do you recommend to protect the floors from the misting water and such? Lay plastic under the cage?

You can lay anything on the ground... I would move towards plastic because towels and cloth you'll have to wash a lot and if you dont they get stinky..

You can use shower curtains I hang them on the wall behind and on the floor under the cages

I built my cage a custom stand. It's just a table with raised sides, and a hole in the center that drains into a bucket. The cage then stands in the middle atop some bricks, and the cage itself has some little holes drilled. Then there's a frame ontop of the cage that holds a clear shower curtain and that hangs down within the sides of the table so absolutely everything ends up in the table and draining out into the bucket. Once a week I dump it out into the garden and voila! Zero water anywhere. Trust me, I had mine on a rented apartment's *white* carpet!
