Flchams delivery time?

I placed an order on flchams for a beautiful naval bloodline 2 month old veiled chameleon yesterday at around 3 pm because I wanted to get it this morning as I am off work today. I checked my order and it's still processing. Does anybody know how long this site typically takes to process and ship chameleons? I'm very excited for my first chameleon finally!

Welcome on here, and congrats! I have no idea on shipping time, but FL Chams isn’t the most reputable place. While you wait for your new little one, I’d recommend looking up exotic vets with tons of reputable chameleon experience near you (we can also help if you tell us where you live), as you’ll want to bring him/her there for a general wellness appointment, along with x-rays and a fecal check (so make sure to bring a fresh sample of his/her poop with you and your chameleon to the appointment). Afterwards, you’ll also want to drop off at least two more fecal samples so no parasites are missed. Also, if you want us to help make sure your husbandry is at 100%, let us know!

Try to contact them directly. Most of the time there is no follow up from them. They send them out and you just have to be available for the baby when it arrives. Make sure you have tons of tiny feeders. At 2 months old husbandry has to be spot on or they can die easily. I second getting the fecal sample pronto...

Dang that's unfortunate. I'm so excited and don't want to wait a super long time lol. I live in Augusta GA at the moment and am unsure of any chameleon vets around me. I've looked up a bunch of vets and a lot of them say reptile experience, but I don't know if they have chameleon specialists. I believe my husbandry will be alright. I've watched all of neptunechameleon videos and go on this site a lot. I can post a picture of my enclosure though so you guys can give me some tips on that

@jannb should be able to find a vet better than me. As for husbandry, Neptune the Chameleon only really shows panther care, not veiled care, and they are completely different. Have you checked out The Chameleon Academy before? A pic would be much appreciated!

Yeah! I did the whole chameleon academy and learned a lot. I'll take a pic soon. Generally speaking, how much do fecal samples and x-rays cost?

Ah alright. Well here's the current enclosure. My girl is home all the time so she's going to consistently mist it at night. Like I said we live in Augusta so it's always humid, so we aren't going to mist during the day for the most part. Also, I have a heat dome and 60 watt soft white bulb that I haven't put on top of it yet. But I already tested and temperatured it and placed the vine at the top about 8 inches below the bulb, and it reads 85 degrees so it'll be good. Also don't have dragon ledges yet, will be getting them in a month or two and replacing the fake silk ivy with real plants when I get the ledges, so I can mount pothos. Anyways here's the pictures

Your chameleon needs to be misted at least 2 times a day (preferably around lights off and lights on), for 2-5+ minutes long each time. You can also add a dripper so he/she has access to water without spiking the humidity. What are your nighttime temps? For a baby veiled, that’s too hot, it should be at 80*F. What are you using to measure basking temps and where is it placed? All of the fake plants need to be replaced with veiled-tested lives ones (that are properly cleaned offf beforehand, repotted into organic soil with no chemical fertilizers, and have rocks to big for him/her to eat covering the soil), as they’re an impaction risk that can lead to death; the Exo Terra vines need to be replaced with safe ones (no moss vines or fake vines with leaves on them either), as well.

Here’s two great cage set-up links and a link to a veiled-tested plant list, along with some helpful charts!

I know it's preferred to mist them twice a day, but I don't think I should during the day. The humidity in the room constantly stays between 35-50%. I'm probably just going to mist it a lot at night, then a light mist around lights on for him. Night time temps are between 65-75 degrees typically. I have a digital thermometer with a probe I use. Also, am going to definitely use a Dripper. The two plants I have at the bottom are already washed and repotted with organic soil also. Also, what's wrong with the exo Terra vines?

As long as the morning misting is at least 2 minutes, that’ll be good. If you can keep the nights closer to 65*F, perfect! Great on the digital probed thermometer! Once you get your cham, you’ll want to adjust it so it‘s where the top of your chameleon’s back is when he/she is on his/her basking branch. Exo Terra’s vines have a coating that comes off and can lead to eye issues.

A 'chameleon specialist' is going to be extremely rare. Easier to find a certified herp vet with chameleon experience.

Thanks for the help everybody! I got an update, and he shall be here in the morning. Very excited. How long after getting him should I take him for fecal testing? Or do I just leave him at home and bring the vet some dookie? Also, his name will be bubba instead of Reggie, because I got an orange one.

Find a reptile vet in your area. Find out if you can drop off the fecal and then bring in the cham later if it comes back positive. Reduced stress is better for one so young. But fecal test should be an asap priority.
