FL Q's

Hey I have been taking my cham outside everyday for sun and lately it has been very hot. today it was easily 97-100 degrees. I didn't take him outside today because I thought it was a little too hot. I thought temps for panthers should be at the highest around the low 90's. If he has access to shade, does it still seem too hot?

Also, I've been researching roach feeders, namely dubia and discoid, but none of my local shops carry them and I can't find a company that will ship to FL because of some law. Can anyone shed light on this?

I just saw this today i notice that no one will ship there i thought it was strange too. I bet it has something to do with the fruit that u guys grow there

I think if it's over 90 in the shade it's probably too hot for a lengthy stay outside. That doesn't mean an hour or so of supervised time in the shade wouldn't be very welcome.

I am in FL too. I find morning and late evening when its cooler is best for short stays outside and its still plenty sunny. I make sure he has shade and misting.

The hottest temps for a panther should be 85 and they always need a cool place in the 70's to go to to cool off.

I like to check weatherunderground. For example, in Ambilobe it was in the low 90's. So your panther can probably handle some heat. As long as you provide plenty of shade and water he should be okay, but I wouldn't leave him outside too long and unsupervised. You can also run a mister from a water hose on him when it is that hot.

As far as roaches go, You can find members here on this forum and others who have tons of roaches and will send you some. Just dont let any loose, nor tell the authorities. LOL
