first silkworm coccoon

I got my first silkworm coccoon. It is attached to the side of the plastic container and not in the tp roll:( Should I try to cut the attaching silk and remove it or leave it alone? I cant really clean the container where it is.
Boy they eat alot!
 
When I had some that had pupated in a corner ans worms still eating I just lifted the lid a bit and added more food. Four days after they started spinning you can move them. I have removed the excess silk from mine and laid them in a tub on kitchen paper towel, but if you leave the silk on there they don't roll around as much, lol!
