Thanks for reply. I separated them already. I noticed Charlie wasn't as active as he was and seems a little down. Both Charlie and Marvin seemed to get a long. The would be next to each other not problems. Even slept together most of the time. Like I said Charlie seems a little "sad" so hopefully the separation helps.Charlie is definitely big enough to separate from Marvin NOW! All it takes is one split second for him to decide to resent what he probably sees as an intruder to his turf and give him a nasty bite. Even if he doesn't attack physically, he's bound to be stressing Marvin by "cornering" him in less desirable places in the cage, keeping him from hunting, basking or drinking.
They are now separated.Veiled chameleons are by no meals social animals, and the possibility of injury or illness due to stress to both chams is very real. Even if nothing bad has happened so far, that doesn't mean it won't happen five minutes from now, or an hour from now, or tomorrow. Please, give your beloved babies their own safe individual environments, free from possible harm.
How old is he? Bringing your Cham into a new environment is very very stressful for them. When I put my Cham, Castiel, into his new and bigger cage he was totally stressed out. He would always try to bite me and was always black and dark green. Just give him some time (a week) and he will probably be better.I think Charlie is stressing. He has never looked like that before. He recently started. This is a new cage as well. It's bigger and ventilated. Hopefully separating the two will help. I'm a little nervous.
He's about 10 months. Yeah I think that is what's going on. He's stressing hopefully he snaps out of it. He snapped at me for the first time last week. He gets normal coloring then he gets like the picture throughout the day.How old is he? Bringing your Cham into a new environment is very very stressful for them. That's exatly what my Cham does. I keep the door open a lot and it actually seems to calm him down. Just a simple move to a different cage is like moving out of the country for us. Give him another week and he should be back to normal again, he will apritiate the new roomHe's about 10 months. Yeah I think that is what's going on. He's stressing hopefully he snaps out of it.
