First ever captive bred calumma roaloko (I think)

The first of hopefully many captive bred calumma roaloko has hatched. To my knowledge, this is the first time this species has ever been produced in captivity. This took almost exactly 4 months of incubation, at low 70s during the day, to high 60s at night. No diapause needed.

Here’s something exciting. A presumed male has hatched and his color scheme is very close to an adult male. So perhaps this species can be sexed right out of the egg!

Message received loud and clear—classic picture of a tiny chameleon perching on your middle finger. And somehow that female roaloko seems to amplify the mood by saying "Yeah, you heard him...F*&k you!" 😭😭😭😭

So I say this with tears in my eyes and low self-esteem from this uncalled-for harassment: those are some cute chameleons. 🥲
Haha well sorry to burst your bubble but that is actually my index finger. I guess I have weird fingers and hands. I agree that the little roaloko still amplifies the mood though lol.

Bubble is bursted haha. I stared at my hand for a good 10 minutes making sure I wasn't mistaken. I guess I was just too quick to assume that you and your chameleon had it out for me. Yep, let's just chalk it up to weird fingers and hands haha

And that hatchling male is absolutely adorable! I look forward to seeing more photos from your roaloko project and other tiny calumma projects in the future. Tiny calummas are sooo fascinating! Thanks for sharing this valuable information with the community!
