First day in the sun

Today was Kodas first day outside since I got him and the effects were amazing! He is a veiled and I read all the posts about how veileds are aggressive and I figured I was just lucky because he has always been a pussycat. Today when I went to take him inside he was in true veiled form hissing, and lunging and trying to bite me. His colors also have never looked better, very vivd and a few I never knew were there. Anyone else experience this when exposing thier cham to the real sun? Make me wonder what spectrums our lights are not covering and why.....

Oh yeah! Now that it's warm out, we have been opening the patio doors and letting the sun and warm wind come right in to Cricket's cage. He loves it, and usually hangs out in the corner closest to the open door, looking out the window and drinking in some real sun. We leave the curtain open in the winter (with the door shut, of course) but he doesn't bother with it much during that time- I guess the sun isn't strong enough to attract him. And yes, I've noticed a definite increase in his colouration. No aggression, though. He was actually sitting on my head for about an hour today while I read a book! (My chair is by the window, haha.)

Yes, it's amazing how your chams look in 'real' light. Baltazar hasn't been out a but a couple times and he doesn't like it much. This spring and summer I'll be taking him out more for him to get used to it. My other male veiled was from a guy in San Diego who is used to the sun and he loves it and brightens up considerably. He still hates me though. :)
