Finished my female cham enclosure. advice? comments?

Here it is.. the finished product for now. let me know what you think.

-1 uva
-1 uvb
-1 repti fogger
-1 croton

conditions are usually 85-90 and 60-80% humidity. I am feeding her throughout the day with crickets with the powder about 3 a day sometimes more. this week i think ill be picking up some type of worm to give her a change

- also i still have not picked her up, ive asked in other threads but got no response maybe there is already one out there but should i wait for her to come to me or just go ahead and pick her up as if she was used to it

Looks great! My only suggestion would be to add more "highways". Vertically, diagonally and horizontally. Also, have you given any thought about a laying bin?

She is a year old Veild right? 85-90 ambient? 90 is too hot for basking for female.

I would reduce her basking temp to around 84, and when you mean you feed her every dya, do you mean you feed 3 bugs a day, or you dust 3 bugs a day.

I started picking up practice with my male ambilobe by just putting my hand near him in his enclosure and then gently nudging his front paw to see if I could either coax him to grasp or just get him to move over my hand to get to another branch or vine. Once we got past those initial touching attempts and he wasn't flaring up anymore, then maneuvered both hands inside to get him completely on my hand and I took him out of his enclosure for a few minutes but stayed close to the enclosure. Eventually I got him on a routine of getting on my hand in the morning and going to the window for some sunshine. Basically I went slow and paid attention to his chin flares. I just got a female this morning who is the complete opposite. Not shy or timid at all. Climbed all over me and my boyfriend as soon as I opened the shipping container. Didn't flare up either. Just walked all over us like that's what we're there for and we really are, aren't we?

I thought the plant could be the laying bin... that's the only reason i got it, wouldnt they naturally just lay them in the dirt wherever they live?

I will try the front paw technique, I really want her to be friendly!!

i have never had eggs but from what i have seen on here the pot has to be at a min 8inches deep and they need to be able to get to the dirt. your plant looks like its covering up most if not all the dirt.

but like i said i have never had eggs so im not sure at all im sure someone will comment about it soon.

good luck with getting her friendly. im doing the same thing with my rescued male. its coming along nicely for me so i hope it works for you

You can raise it or get a smallert Watt bulb.
She may lay in there but the conditions need to.be right (not planting soil with fertilizers and chems) sanitary and can hold a deep tunnel.

yes they might lay in your plant pot. but then.. you get to dig up your plant to get the eggs out.

ntm- the dirt has to be damp enough to hold a tunnel. if you do that to a plant, youl lget root rot and kill your plant from the water.

Not at all.

the plant is good.

she wont always look prego. and therein lies the problem.

some females show gravid colors and get fat.

some dont.

some stop eating, some never stop eating even when laying.

some wander the bottom, others like mine, just go from normal.. to digging a hole.

hahah oh chameleons are difficult. I think im gonna have to move her into a big cage. Im probably just going to make it myself they are so simple and the supplies are super cheap. probably put some cool frogs in that one

sadly no jax. not big enough, and its hard to regulate temps for them.

I would do a small species.. hoehnellis are tiny, i think carpet chams would work too

I have a crested gecko in my small one, and once she grows more, ill upgade to the cage you have.

you can keep pygmies together, as long as you do 1 male and then girls.

though finding pygmies right now is sort of hard, it can be done.
