Finally took the plunge!

After months of research and set-up I finally got the Cham. He is a sub adult male Jackson that I purchased at my local reptile expo in Indianapolis. So far, so good. Ate really well the first 3 days, did not see him eat today which worries me a little, also have not seem him drink since the first day so a little worried about that as well. He has a dripper and I am misting his enclousure as well so the water is available. Also wanted to ask if I should be running the coolmist humidifier 12 hours a day next to his cage like I have been? Is that too much? His basking spot is in the low 80's and he has not been very active yet, is that normal? I have had him since Sunday and he has only been in about 20% of his enclousre. Hope these are all normal for a new animal.

Congratulations on your new guy! So you made it to the expo! Sorry I missed it.
I don't have to run my humidifier near the cage. The misting are enough in my house to keep the humidity level. Since we have similar weather it should be about the same for you. What are you feeding him... something they can't resist more then others.

Medium Crickets and a few roaches to add a little variety. Going to try some different worms in the near future but will stick to crickets for the most part. What have you had luck with?

That guy is definitely adult, I know my adult female doesnt eat much.
Maybe 3 small feeders at the most, but lots of time nothing at all.

You have anymore pics of him and his house???

Here is the home. 18x18x36 - two pothos and a few fakes to add extra cover. His name is is (Boy) George, my wife named him, I am sticking with George.

Hornworms and silks are nice. I have to oder them in and sometime pick them up at the Indy or Noblesville show.

Mine likes crickets, but she likes dubia better.
Flies even better, bees even more better.

Worms are hit and miss

My guy will only eat 1 or 2 Dubai and then he is done? Where do you get flies and bees? Do you collect them yourself?

Yes, I catch the honey bees and BB flies in my backyard for my jackson.
Two half inch long dubia fills her up.
