Female Veiled Cham laying material?

I have a Female veiled that is about 8 months old I just upgraded her to a 24x24x48 cage. I am now thinking about putting a laying box in her cage so when it is time for her to lay she has it avaliable..... in all my reading I have seen some say to use sand and others soil, so I figured I would ask what people use and which is the best brands of soil or sand to use.
