* Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings.-pinkish? color Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?-not to my knowledge, I'll have to check with the breeder and get back to this one.
* History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.- I have a male and a female ambilobe panther cham. Their schedules are consistent when feeding, watering a cleaning the cages (I treat them both the same). My male is totally fine and healthy; however my female is very ill, her eyes are sunken in, she's very small in size and can barely hold herself up. She has these odd black spots along her gum line which is when I really noticed the change in her attitude. She's not very friendly as far as handling is concerned but now, she won't even fight me when I try to pick her up and goes totally limp in my hand. It's to the point now that I'm using my bathroom as a greenhouse to keep the humidity in her cage up, I'm force feeding her with an oral baby syringe (crushed crix and pedialyte, as well as waxworms to try to help her fat content. ) I've spoke to the breeder (same breeder for both chams) and she has agreed to meet me and give me antibiotics that she has (baytril?), hopefully this helps but any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

I can get her to a vet but no sooner than Monday, I'm affraid she won't make it that long-SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!

about pics

These photos are from today, the first two were from this morning when I first woke up and went in to feed and water them. The third was taken about an hour and half ago while i was feeding her waxworms and pedialyte. Like I said, I can't get to a reptile specialist until Monday and the Pet ER down here doesn't know anything about chams

What does the inside of her mouth look like?. Can you see? She could possibly have mouth rot. Do you ever use calcium with d3? Do your chams get out for natural sunlight. I noticed you live in florida. you need to change up your gutload....fresh fruits and vegestable, dark leafy greens, apples, oranges, carrots, etc.

I hate to have to say this...but I don't think she will make it until Monday. She needs a vet right now....and even then it might be iffy.

I was thinking the same thing Lynda but didn't want to say it. :( He has another cham, and there are some things that could use some changes so he stays healthy, like the gutload as mentioned.

I was also gutless. I don't even think a vet could help at this point. Very sorry.

2:00 a.m. update.

I had to work tonight until two a.m. I came home, she had fallen and I thought she was but when I touched her she moved. I've begun the antibiotic, fed her water and put her back. Thanks for everyone's imput, I am also very wary of her outcome at this point but I can't just give up and I'm keeping the lights on tonight to maintain tempurture. We'll see if she makes it through the rest of night. =[ Cross your fingers.

I would certainly like to be proven wrong and see her pull through....so my fingers are crossed. Be careful that she doesn't aspirate the meds or the water into her lungs.

ireally hope she pulls thru also best of luck...i had my first cham die on mee...:(.. not cool...i didnt know what the heck in was doing...:(but i wish u best of luck...keep us up dated...

I would just like to say thanks to all that were concerned and had some advise for us, but I'm sorry to inform everyone that we lost Nola through the night and she has past. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our chameleon, we loved her like a child and she will be truly missed and never forgotten.:(

So sorry for your loss. Its never easy losing one even after years of keeping them.

If you get a necropsy done you might find out why she died.

as someone who just lost both my female Ambilobie and my dearest cross male panther just days apart, I want to say how sorry I am to hear of your loss. I have been following your thread and couldn't post because the tears in my eyes would not stop.

my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Harry
