I would not use a fish tank to house a chameleon. Get a screen cage or a terraium. They both provide proper ventilation. A screen cage preferably. A fish tank does not.

He knows its not ideal and I suggested a fan for the mean time.

Did u try any other foods? Did remove substrate and let crickets go in his cage?

I put him and some crickets in a container while i cleaned the cage of the substrate and am about to put him and the crickets in the cage, but leave the crickets in a container with a branch leading into it so they cant get out but he can get in/out

I received a zoo med repti-breeze screen cage from a friend but it is
24" x 24" x 48" which I thought was too big for him right now and was using the fish tank until he got a little bigger

Awsome he will take some time to warm up to new environment. Hydration is the real key now. As long as his urates are mostly white with little to no yellow and his eye turrets stay full looking. Eating will come it make take a day or two I've heard of it takin 6 days when everything gets switched around.
Have u had a chance to correct his supplementing?
And being near a window keep a close eye on his temps they could change drastically

That's very nice of ur friend and unless u can raise the bottom about half way up and keep it raised to make the cage smaller it would be to big. But may be better than the tank anyways. With the screen ur gonna have to mist akot more and up ur bulb wattage.

I haven't had a chance yet to get any new supplements (low on $), I still only have the calciumhosporus 2:1 for now.

Okay extremely light doses. I cant express to u how important calci with NO D3 is. To much d3 can cause problems. I got a jar of rep-cal with no d3 off amazon.com for like 6 bucks cause they dont sell it anywhere in my area. Make that priority number 1

Once I get the Calcium with no D3 do I dust the crickets daily or still once a month?

Everyday ever feeder. It's possible he's going through a slight calcium deficancy. That fan lead to MBD (metabolic bone disease) we do not want it to get there. When u dist only put enough supplement to coat every cricket very lightly they should bearly change color. then with d3 once a month same dusting amount. And a multivit that has some for of vit. a and that's once a month or once every other. Personaly i alternate from one time a month then one time the next month then skip a month then 2 months In a row then skip. And so on

There are many goo forums to look through on others supplements scheduals. They also have a all In one repashy calcium plus. U dust with that lightly every feeder every day and nothing more.. but I think we need to level ur guy out with plain calcium ane get him into shape first. (and the plain calcium is cheaper than repashy)

I would try offering hin some fruitflies, or small houseflies dusted light in calcium since he looks very young. Could it be the crikets are too big for him?
