Feeding strategies

First off, will he eat crickets if they are slightly to large for him(it's all they had) or are they that picky?

Now the real question, my veiled is 3 months old and as of right now I just let 10-15 crickets go in his cage and let him do his thing, he"ll hunt down two or so at a time then few a little later but doesn't go on a full feeding frenzy ( although I just put some in his cage and he hasn't gone after one yet)

But I want to get him cup trained so he can know exactly where his food is plus I can't think any other way for me to feed him worms, what I was wondering is...what do you guys use and how do you mount them?

Thanks in advance.

most likely he will if he is really hungry, but you don't want to feed anything that is too big for choking reasons either. I mean how big are we talking here and how old is your chameleon? If you search the threads here on cup feeding I am sure you will find plenty of ideas on how to rig up your feeding cup.

There were some in there as big as his head that I took out as soon as I noticed him but I'd say maybe half the distance between his eyes longer than the distance between his eye

Also I noticed he's starting to shed around his feet so I think that might have something to do with him not eating yet

Really I think I'm just a little overly paranoid considering I just got him yesterday.

I just wanna make sure everythings perfect for my little dude.

I placed the bottom half of 1 gallon plastic milk/water jug with some drain slits about mid-level in the cage within viewing of his basking spot. I used bendable vines to mount it and provide easy access for the cham. He took to it right away. Now I feed his staples from there twice a day and place other food items throughout the cage throughout the day. i.e. hornworms, butterworms, wild locusts, and the occasional mealworm by hand.

As far as the shedding goes...mine does slow down on the amount he eats a day or so before he sheds until he's finished, (he's doing so today).

Thanks guys

I just tried to feed him a mealworm by hand and he hissed at me for the first time...scared the crap outta me!

Update: I got off work and he ate all the crickets in the cAge and is completely shedded, now he's sleeping like a baby:)

But my main question; I just put some orange slices and shredded carrots in my cricket keeper along with the normal fluckers Gurkhas food and hydration stuff, dies that sound alright?
