Feeding question.......

I have a rather large colony of Dubia roaches..... I have a buttload of tarantulas thus the roaches.... Can I feed the roaches to my baby veiled and juvie Jackson's? And if so how would I go about doing so?

If you aren't familiar with these roaches, they burrow FAST in any substrate and hide, but are unable to climb slick sides of an enclosure aka glass, plastic, etc....

ANY advice would be helpful! I DON'T WANNA BREED CRIX! They r smelly and noisy!

im not sure about feeding them to your baby veiled, the general rule of thumb is not to feed a cham anything that is longer then the space between that individual chams eyes. i think they could probably be fed to your jacksons tho as long as they follow that rule! im sure others will chime in with their thought s too so well see what they think as well!

Hello and ty for replying. I have small 1/4" nymph Dubia(it's a colony a breeding colony) so they would be smaller than the veileds heads, they are almost 2mos old. But how do you think I would go about feeding the pesky things to whichever chams? For my tarantulas I behead them so they just lie there any wiggle instead of running away and burrowing...

Go for it!

For your baby, just make sure the nymph is nice and tiny for im so he doesnt choke.

you dont have to behead them, just collect the amount you need, and put them in a cup so he can see them.

Yes, make sure they're small and I place them one at a time on the branch in front of my Cham, sometimes I have to nudge the roach to make it move a bit, it usually gets zapped up.

feeder cup like the sunny-d deathtrap only smaller jug.

absolutely, you can feed baby / nymph roaches to your baby veiled and appropriately sized ones to your Jack too. Just remember to gutload the roaches according to the needs of a chameleon, which may be more complicated than for a spider.

I prefer to bowl feed for roaches, to ensure nothing escapes or hides and thus every bug is eaten (or removed)
I used to remove heads if I wasnt going to be around to ensure they got eaten, not because they moved more but because I wanted the roaches to starve to death if they escaped
