Feeding my Ambilobe via finger bridge.

I was trying to think of a way to make positive contact with our cham in hope that we may be able to handle him down the road. This seems to work just fine. I spread my fingers out like branches leading to his feeding cup. When he sees the cup he comes running and doesn't seem to notice that he is crawling on my hand. He still locks his tail around the temporary wooden ladder, so he's not yet fully committed. But I think its going well only having him for 2 weeks now.

When i first got my cham she would get pissed even if i was just opening the cage. Then i came across this video. Every feeding now i open the cage and she is already focused on me and will climb towards the door. At first it was just me holding the cup up to the door and she would eat from the cup. Then i started mixing that with having a cricket right on my hand. She has come such a far way that now she is interested in my hands enough to come see if i have food weather im feeding her or not. For the past week she has been crawling eagerly onto my hand every time I bring her a cup of crickets.
Today I put the cup all the way to my elbow and she crawled onto my arm. Now if i could get her used to me walking away with her. Anytime she crawls on me i have to be stiff as a tree or she still gets a lil freaked out.

Just wanted to say thanks for making it possible for me to hold my cham

Just curious... are those lattices store bought or did you make them?

Your Cham is very assertive when it comes to feeding. Not all are like that. It's a very good trait.

I mad the lattices. I went to a local art supply store and got a bunch of different size 36" dowel rods. I then cut a bunch to make the rungs and hot glued them together. The little leaves are from a fake wreath that was bought at walmart, it kinda adds a bit to the theme. The only problem that I ran into is that the UV causes the glue to dis-bond. So any place that UV light was shining on them the rungs fell off. This is easy to fix by gluing not just the joint, but all the way around each of the two pieces to make 2 complete circled of glue. This works because the glue separates from the wood, but not itself.

I have actually taken these lattices out now. They were just a temporary fix until out local garden centers started carrying tropical trees. This is what it looks like now.
